North Creek

Miocean recently completed its first project, a $1.2 million filtration system at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, which is now trapping tons of pollutants prior to their entering our local beaches and coastal waters. Miocean worked vigorously with local, city and state government to ensure the project met the established requirements and timelines. In addition, Miocean directly donated $100,000 to the completion of the project.

Salt Creek

Currently, Miocean is working vigorously with local, city and state government officials to help develop a plan of attack against the urban run-off crisis in Salt Creek. The entire project will cost $3,500,000 with an expected completion date of 2005. Miocean is focused on ensuring that the Salt Creek project gets completely funded on a timely basis, as well acting as a catalyst across various local governments involved in the project. On February 11, 2004, the Dana Point City Council formally accepted Miocean’s offer of $150,000 in financial assistance for the project.

Ocean Institute

Miocean recently engaged in a joint venture with the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, California. The “Ocean Institute’s Watershed Education Program Sponsored by Miocean”, is aimed at students in the 5th grade in the communities of Orange County, California and will allow them to learn about the impact of their local watersheds on coastal waters.
